Collins is committed to take all reasonable measures to conduct business activities so that damage to the environment and pollution is minimised. As a business, we recognise the considerable impact that construction has on the environment and we therefore select construction methods that minimise the use of natural resources associated with the use of energy and materials. Our on-going commitment to the environment has seen us become a Carbon Neutral Company. We also encourage our suppliers of goods and services to adopt best environmental practices and provide goods from sustainable sources wherever possible.

We assess the environmental impact of site operations on an individual basis and develop specific environmental management plans to control and minimise the impact of pollutants such as noise, dust, vibration and odours whilst taking into account the community and neighbouring premises. We endeavour to minimise the amount of waste generated by our operations and ensure that materials are reused or recycled where practicable or disposed of in a responsible manner. We look to assess each project to determine how the operations can become Carbon Neutral by assessing the emissions used.

We have recently achieved a Ska Gold rating on Rider Levett Bucknall's new HQ and a Ska Silver rating for Henderson Global Investors. We have also achieved BREEAM Excellent ratings for GMS Estates and Canada Life.
