Collins Construction is a Partner of the Considerate Constructors Scheme. Partners are companies who have demonstrated and promote the highest standard of “Considerate Construction”.  As a Partner, Collins agrees to register all of its projects to the scheme and, in doing so, commits to comply with all aspects of the scheme’s code of considerate practice. Partners are expected to have a history with the scheme and will have a record of performance at least 1 point above the industry average.

The 5 elements are:

  • Care about appearance
  • Respect the community
  • Protect the environment
  • Secure everyone’s safety
  • Value the workforce

Director of SHEQ, Tony Turner, and Head of QA & Systems, Neil Courtman, ensure Collins’ compliance across the business. They make regular visits to every project to encourage best practice and discuss areas of improvement with project teams. They also monitor and contribute to the CCS best practice hub to keep up to date with new initiatives and examples of industry best practice.

Collins has developed good relationships with the CCS monitors and take on board all feedback, striving to implement them within the business. For all non CDM projects Collins maintains the same CCS standards under the CCS company registration. Collins regularly achieves beyond compliance and has registered upwards of 100 projects with the scheme.
