Collins Construction turns 70

Collins Construction is celebrating 70 years in business, marking a significant milestone in the company's history.

Founded in 1956, the business has grown from a team of around 30 people based in Peckham to a well-established London contractor employing more than 170 people today. Throughout that growth, the company has remained rooted in the values that have shaped its reputation for decades: expertise, collaboration and a practical, hands-on approach to construction.

From David Bartram's appointment as Managing Director in 1975 through to Chris Bartram taking over the role in 2005, the business developed a strong reputation for delivering complex projects while building long-standing relationships with clients, consultants and supply chain partners.

Today, under the leadership of Managing Director Jason Warren, Collins continues to deliver increasingly complex and high-profile schemes, including its largest project to date at 30 Finsbury Square. Over the past seven decades, the company has delivered a diverse range of projects, from heritage refurbishments and workplace transformations to specialist schemes including Madame Tussauds, the London Dungeon and facilities for precious metal storage.

As Collins marks its 70th anniversary, the focus remains on the people who have contributed to the company's success. Current and former employees, clients, partners and suppliers have all played a role in building the business and shaping the culture that continues today.
