7 February 2022

We recognise that the construction industry has seen a reduction in managerial staff over the past several years. By offering opportunities for young people to grow, develop and learn, we are building the next generation of construction professionals to support the future workforce.

National Apprenticeship Week 2022 takes place this week, from 7th to 13th February. It brings together everyone passionate about apprenticeships to celebrate the value, benefit, and opportunity that apprenticeships bring.

The theme of National Apprenticeship Week 2022 is ‘Build the Future’, which is exactly what Collins is doing, through the places we create and the people we employ.

Last year, Collins launched its first official apprenticeship scheme in partnership with the London South Bank University, working alongside the Business Engagement and Apprenticeship Team.

Tom, Dominic, and James joined Collins in September 2021 as part of the scheme and are completing their formal academic Level 4 NVQ (HNC equivalent) Qualifications in Site Supervision and Quantity Surveying.

Watch our short video below that gives a snapshot into the role of an apprentice at Collins Construction. Tom, Dominic, and James have been with Collins for six months now and are all exceeding expectations within their teams. We are proud to be able to contribute to the development of future construction professionals.
