Collins is proud to announce the completion of the refurbishment within Citypoint on behalf of Brookfield Properties. Collins delivered complex, structural link bridging to increase the floor area as well as carry out an internal and external refurbishment to multiple levels of office space within the landmark tower.

The refurbishment has seen the transformation of circa 141,000ft2 of office space across levels five to eight of the occupied building, home to many high-profile commercial occupiers as well as retail and hospitality venues.

The team increased the floor area by installing one two-storey and one three-storey link bridge across floors 6-8 to link two, originally separated, areas of the building, carrying out works over live retail and hospitality environments.

To achieve this, the team had to remove the existing glazing - around 75 panes of curtain walling across levels 5-8 within the public atrium – and install a scaffold crash deck at level five, an occupied floor.

With the structural integrity of the building slab not strong enough to support a mobile crane, the team used Davit Arms to hoist the structural steels up to level eight.

The third link bridge installed by the Collins team was an internal terrace at level six, to provide an all year round outside space for tenants. To ensure the three link bridges did not impair the amount of light within the atrium, the team then installed barrisol ceilings underneath all link bridges.

Additionally, Collins installed three external terraces, two at level eight and one at level six. These included the installation of two seven metre green walls to protect the privacy of neighbouring residential properties.

Collins also refurbished the circa 10,000 ft2 basement area to provide new ‘end of journey’ facilities and installed 12 new toilet blocks across the new office space floors.
