Collins was appointed by London Square Developments to the £10 million refurbishment of The Crosse and The Pickle Factory, both located within their London Square Bermondsey development, to transform the new and heritage buildings into contemporary work and retail space. Situated on the site of the former Crosse and Blackwell factory – the producers of Branston Pickle - The Crosse is the first commercial phase of the major redevelopment to complete.
The Collins team has handed over two floors of fully fitted Cat A office and retail space within The Crosse, a mixed-use development comprising eight floors of residential and commercial space. At a total of circa 11,000 sq ft, the commercial units have been designed to offer a variety of sizes, but they can easily be combined to provide larger, self-contained office space over two floors.
Collins is due to start onsite at The Pickle Factory early next year, to complete phase two of the London Square Bermondsey development. The Pickle Factory is an exciting refurbishment of the former iconic Branston Pickle Factory that will transform the historic building into 77,000 sq ft of office space as well space for mixed-use and residential.
Collins will be working with Orbit Architects and Paragon Building Consultancy to preserve the history of the building whilst repurposing the space to provide flexible workspace. The refurbishment will involve creating an impressive new reception on the ground floor, as well as a new striking entrance area. Blending old with new, the team will fit out the triple height atrium on the ground floor to create a light, open communal space that keeps in style with its warehouse heritage.
Collins will also refurbish the office space from lower ground to level two, with high spec finishes throughout. The space will feature new exposed services, new WC facilities to each floor, bike racks, and locker and shower facilities.
