The complex structural alteration and complete refurbishment of this 9 storey 1950’s building to provide RIBA with contemporary office space in their new headquarters in Portland Place took place over the course of 35 weeks.
Curtain wall systems were used to link two buildings to create a large two storey forum area, with over 30,000 ft² of office space, meeting rooms and ancillary facilities.
We installed 3 new lifts, an internal staircase, brand new services, extensive resin floors and new finishes throughout, with one of the challenging aspects of this projects being to ensure that RIBA were handed over a building that they could be proud of.
