Debenhams developed a relocation scheme of its head office to its flagship store on Oxford Street in 2019. They decided to return their support centre to the upper floors of the store, which will allow them to be closer to the business and to customers.

The works started with the strip out of the existing shop floors, layout & services on floors 4 & 5. We then completed a Cat B fit out to the office space; inclusive of breakout areas, copy points, WC's, meeting rooms and a new reception area.

During the refurbishment, the store remained open to the public which meant we had very limited access and had to give major consideration to noise control.

The centre of the building holds an open atrium, which allows for noise to travel easily between floors. Any noisy works and deliveries had to be meticulously planned around the store’s opening hours, to be as undisruptive as possible.

The finished space resulted in an open planned workplace to inspire creativity and teamwork amongst Debenhams employees, whilst providing a well-designed space to consolidate their central functions.
